Yet another sign of how pervasive corruption is in this country that this guy isn't immediately being removed from his position.

There should be an investigation into the legality of all ADL's actions.

I am once again impressed with the UAW. The way Fain and Dictor handled this is to: put it in historical context w/ other UAW actions, call it out in writing, and lay the path for appropriate relations with the Monitor, going forward.

The way Fain responded to the anti-semitism trope in the face of genocide, is a learning for us.

Peace is the way.

Barofsky’s serious and outrageous ethical breach is more than sufficient for his dismissal.

i think its sufficient to bring criminal charges. this is an absurd misuse of power and if it were in any other context, he would surely be losing his job. the israel-exception reigns once again.

It’s important to highlight that the UAW’s decision was consistent with the members’ vote, and was not just an expression of leaders’ preferences. So, it was just speech, expressed collectively. By the way, that letter is extremely well worded. I’m proud of that lawyer. Who’s a good lawyer? You are! Good lawyer!

According to what's online, Barofsy is an attorney honored by The Algemeiner, a news outlet that covers matters of Jewish interest (https://www.jenner.com/en/news-insights/recognition/partner-neil-barofsky-named-to-the-algemeiners-j100-list). According to the Order signed by Judge Lawson, Barofsky is "free from any apparent conflict of interest." Barofsky's conflict of interest has now become apparent--something that the Judge should be forced to revisit by motion. Furthermore, Lawson's Order indicates that the President of Local 551 in Chicago, Scott Houdieson, had previously filed a motion to intervene in the appointment of Barofsky that was originally denied, then allowed, then later withdrawn. What was that about?

This is outrageous! The nerve of this monitor! Who the hell asked this gentleman for his personal advice? Looks like a deeper dive is needed to find out who sanctioned this behavior?
