The reason this is being prosecuted in the ICC and IJC is not because the victims are Palestinian, Muslim, or Middle Eastern. I grew up with a Catholic mother and atheist father. Went to Catholic school till 14 yrs old when I left the church. I still thank and miss my father for his "permission by example" to think outside the square. Worship of a "sky" god (usually male) for a caring philosophy is one thing, but when religious beliefs are intolerant of others and used to threaten or take lives, they are bad political messaging and should be confronted. History is full of challenges to religious beliefs which oppress human rights, eg womens rights etc. So I remain a happy atheist.

The little research I've done implies criminal penalties for MATERIAL support of groups designated as terrorist organizations but I found nothing regarding support purely in the form of speech.

Revolution is the usual result and that is no guarantee of restoration, but of something different and not necessarily better. I know of two people who maintain multiple citizenship with the idea that when the going gets tough, go elsewhere. There are not a few leaving Israel now and I can see why...the fanatics have taken over and the people of good intent are a small minority. I believe that in the US, the people of good intent remain at least over 50% and I wouldn't want to reduce their number.

But I have to tell you that I'm 74, and I don't have any revolution left in me. It seems like too much of an uphill battle just to dismantle my house, pack it, find a place, sell my place, and move. But if the violent clown wins, I can't stay. Of course I don't trust the polls -- even the most esteemed pollsters say not to trust them -- but considering the difference between Harris and the clown, there should be a 30-40 point difference. I really like/liked "The Lever," and I think Sirota and Singh do a great job, but every post is just another example of the same problem: how money corrupts political functioning and this country. I already know that. Of course, "The Lever" is reporting, and it's not their job to make anything change (clearly, they want it to) but I need change. It doesn't do me any good to know that I have accurately identified the problem. And then, you get a president like Biden, who keeps backing Netanyahu, immediately after which he attends an AIPAC event, and an alternative choice like Harris, who says she wouldn't do anything different, and it's all very defeating and deflating. Maybe the young'uns will do something right, but I won't live that long.
