The military government is blocking roads and cutting internet access in an attempt to stop activists loyal to the deposed Imran Khan from establishing a presence in the capital city
Outside of Zionism, the US drone program is the largest terrorism program on the planet. It's used to terrorize whole civilian populations on a daily basis, and the bases they kill from are often in neighboring countries. Imran Khan was always right about this.
Then I look at Brazil. After prison, Lula seems much more open - to the influence of empire. May Pakistan find better results from Khan's freedom and return to government.
My memory may be wrong, but I think that in 1972 I asked Noam Chomsky, visiting Toronto, about President Nixon's tilt towards Pakistan. And I think he said that Nixon just liked dictators. He was not the only US president who did. Trump likes them even more.
But I also think of a line from a song John McCutcheon wrote about the events of 1989: "There's no turning back this tide."
Fingers crossed for Khan and his wife's safety above all. Imran Khan was one the world's greatest cricketer - an "all-rounder" ie a fine batsman, bowler and fielder - he captained Pakistan on numerous occasions. He seems to an honourable man, untainted by corruption, and we know the USA (ahem) "don't like" those attributes.
Thanks for your accurate reporting of what is happening in Pakistan. It is unfortunate Biden administration do not see how the human rights and freedoms are being violated in Pakistan and continue supporting the illegal regime. I am proud of Pakistani people for taking this courageous action of having Long March rally towards the capital Islamabad this week.
