Of course not! The Zionists are all about emasculating, reducing the Palestinians to nobodies so there's nobody to talk to. Extermination, in true Nazi style.
Not holding my breath, I'm still suspending judgment whether Trump will truly be any different regarding the genocide - or remain all rhetoric like the Biden administration since Oct 7 and just allow it to continue.
The arc of the universe (and empire) needs to do some bending here. ;(
Israel had no problem eliminating Hamas and Hezbollah leadership across the Middle East. But they tend to keep a few under imprisonment to use as bargaining chips. Crazily enough, they even keep dead bodies to be later used as leverage. Absolutely disgusting.
The Feb. 14 NY Times profiled Barghouti as outstanding to lead Palestinians in a future democratic state, according to Serge Schumann, the former NY Times Jerusalem bureau chief.
Above all else, the bargaining and lies going back and forth, the truth is that
Netanyahu only sees Gaza as real estate, and how long before the world forgets what hes done ,
so he can start clearing up for the developers. he sees this cease fire as a necessary appeasement just to shut the Wasps up until they forget about those bereft Palestinians who are still left, [ we'll get them too ] you watch, nothing will stop those who believe " they are gods chosen ones". Nothing has stopped them yet, nothing will, there is no compassion for anyone but
" the chosen ones, " Jewish women think nothing of the babies crushed and shot by their army ,
in order to get prime real estate. Those tens of thousands of children were worthless, obviously.
Fit for nothing but crushing under rubble, and left to die, and kill anyone who has the decency to help them. or report it, it seems also.
For 74 years this has been going on, blatant theft, murder and rape, as it turns out now.
This appears to be Judaism at its best. not so different to the bestiality of Christianity, Catholicism in particular. Well they both started up wallowing around the same god, invented.
as a means of control, but those who wrote the book, gave themselves a title, " Gods Chosen Ones" and that makes a difference. total power and control. complete disregard for equality and the law. I AM therefore YOUR NOT.
The monstrosity of the occupation has dropped its facade of decency since the infamous attack on October 7. Having banked for years on forcing precisely such a backlash from the purposely segregated, fenced-off pen of Gaza, Israeli forces let loose by far the most appalling of their many bombings and destructive incursions into that Strip. That genocidal action not being sufficient for the crazed Israeli right, they have increased murders and extrajudicial disappearances in the grindingly repressed occupied West Bank. The overwhelming majority of the many thousands of abused detainees no more merited imprisonment than any of the hostages taken by Hamas on that insanely self-destructive 10/7 outpouring of anger. Less so, in fact, because they were already living in practical captivity under an illegal occupation.
The real ugliness here is the absolute failure of these people in positions of power in the Israeli authoritarian regime to view their Palestinian neighbors - any of them - as human beings of the same sort they are, with perhaps less lust for seizing land belonging to others on the basis of some invented theological order absolving them of their sins. The Gvirs and Smotriches and Netanyahus of Israel are happy to slaughter their way out of their Palestinian entanglement, while too many others are happy to look the other way while the gore flows - for the sake of "peace" and "security".
As someone who grew up supporting the ideals of the side of Israel presented to young New Yorkers in the sixties and seventies, feeling deeply the horrors of mistreatment inflicted on Jewish minorities around the world, it has been an ugly awakening to learn the realities of life in Palestine and within the illegally, but theoretically almost justifiable, gifted land within the borders of Israel under the then-new occupation. Watching, through a painful maturation of my political mind, the Israeli right rewrite history, manipulate, fabricate, and assassinate its way to divorcing the Israeli government from every ideal its people imagined it would uphold, while the opposition wavers between a rightward slide and typical political infighting over small points.
"Show no joy at being released" from forty-four years of unjustified captivity indeed. Can you imagine the reaction of Israelis to such a decree from Hamas to Israeli captives and their families? But then we have an imbalance of power here, and the position of Israel as perpetual victim shields it from a real reckoning with being the rogue state it has become.
The potentially sizable Israeli opposition needs to get up on its hind legs, unified in making a course correction (with the "unity" element absolutely necessary) including a rapid recognition of a defined, sovereign Palestinian state, and a program of reparations put in place for its stabilization. Funding and coordination should include forceful input from the US (alas, we have our own minority-rule, criminal government coming in two days, fully approving of the destruction and genocidal intent of the Gaza assault) and UK, states that have been involved in creating and shielding Israel for its mistreatment of the local people from its creation. Without a radical change of course, we cannot continue to misdescribe Israel as a "democracy" or as a reliable ally. It is a loose-cannon state planted on appropriated land, and the depraved treatment of its neighbors and the minimal tolerance of its now-minority "arab" population needs, after all these years, to stop - by international force, if necessary. That would be a sad, crazy necessity, but one way or another, we need a course change. Right now, the government of Israel is not supportable.
Barghouti and Sadaatin in exchange for the male IDF prisoners in Gaza.
In Israel there is a "draft," where young people must serve in the IDF.
How will the further holding of Israeli's, who served their country in the IDF, fly?
Will the Israeli citizens get out in the streets with the parents and loved ones of these forgotten soldiers? The orthodox Israeli's have demonstrated loudly that they do not support military service. Will the Israeli's with soon to be drafted children, support their countries requirement? Why should they, when they turn their backs on their own kids?
I totally don't believe that Israel is going to keep to the rules of the cease fire. Israel is going to find ways to not follow the rules, Israel has to be punished for the murder of the Men, Women and Children of Gaza. The Israeli government has a massive propaganda and disinformation network, and they will protect their lies at all costs, Israel is a criminal state and there is no way this cease fire is going to last.
Israel is creating more Palestinian children and young people as well as elders who will sacrifice their lives for their cause for freedom and justice. Israel is on the losing side and history will not be kind to them. Not only that, from their vaunted cruel old testament, the Jews have been losing wars for millennia. There is a modern joke about Israelis: An American was taking a certain pole- in Russia, 'Excuse me, what to you think of the meat here?" Answer, "What is meat?". In Hungary, "Excuse me,what do you think of the milk here?" What is milk?". In Israel: " Excuse me..." Israeli Interrupts "What is excuse me?". Says it all for me, anyways .

Which is why they will never release him. They don’t want anyone who is likely to succeed and be accepted by the US. It’s horrendous

Nothing suprises me to the depths of degradation Israelies will sink.
Watching them in action for over a year with disgust has left me immune
to expection of signs of humanity.
