It's very sad that the world is ignoring this. I spent two months in Cairo last fall and I witnessed the city receiving more and more refugees who had fled northward to escape the conflict.
Such a terrible tale of inhumanity. The bought and paid for genocide in Gaza has prevented many of us from spending time learning about and seeking ways to stop this horror in Sudan.
I must give my thanks to those courageous doctors, and to those with the foresight to make those underground hospitals. How is it that this species is so incapable of learning how to live with one another in some type of peace and harmony? Who do we donate to for this cause?
Yup! Genocide, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, war crimes in Palestine have really sucked all the oxygen out of covering this catastrophe but we in the west (US) funded/complicit in the crimes in Palestine! And I'm not even talking about the MSM which is now just the propaganda wing of the ministry of information!
This is a heart-wrenching report about courageous individuals who tend to the injured and the needy despite the raging wars outside, and despite the long odds for peace. God bless their souls for such humanity amidst the carnage.
I also would commend Eisa Dafalla, Egab, and Drop Site for reporting that gives us the reality on the ground. And I would urge that you provide reporting that helps us understand better the reasons for the war between the Sudanese army and the RSF -- what are the issues and have outside governments (including the U.S.) taken a stand, or funded one side or the other.
Thanks for the excellent reporting that is generally ignored or underplayed by the corporate media.
As the Western World focuses on white tragedies, the black and brown world is deminished under internal conflict and waning humanitarian air. What the hell is wrong with our species that we so grossly discriminate against those who do not look like us?
"…has killed over 28,000 people and driven 14 million from their homes in the largest displacement crisis in the world. Famine is spreading across the country and hundreds of thousands are on the brink of starvation."
Seems to me to be more likely to be "popular" with protagonists of "causes" than with the people actually paying the price. I'm not a fan of many political "the ends justify the means" arguments. In this case, as with many others, it seems like a mob variant of insanity.
As a species, we seem destined for a short-term record of presence on the planet. If anyone remembers us, it will be for the most egotistical species that existed prior to an inglorious extinction.
Medical professionals in war zones are the bravest people in all of humanity. I can't imagine where they find the courage to live the message in the parable of the Good Samaritan, regardless of the price. They are the best of us and deserve better.
Thank you Eisa Dafalla and Drop Site for this much-needed reporting. I'm still waiting to see a history of the conflict. I don't know what the motivations are, the issues, the interests. Can anyone recommend a source?

I think we in the industrialised western nations, particularly the USA should prohibit arms manufacturers from operating publicly traded companies.
Great idea —this sounds like something CODEPINK would promote

This has all the hallmarks of another CIA slam dunk operation. What does Sudan have that the US wants?
A truly horrible situation like Palestine. The medical workers are saints.
